LEGOLAND Florida announces Annual Passes for Seniors E-mail

As an incentive to families visiting with older members, LEGOLAND has introduced a discounted Senior Garden Pass.

Strictly speaking, LEGOLAND Florida is not an Orlando attraction. However, its proximity to Walt Disney World (an approximately 45 minute drive from the Mouse to Winter Haven) makes it a likely destination for Orlando park visitors. LEGOLAND is being built on 145 acres of the former Cypress Gardens park.

Read the official press release on the Senior Garden Pass:

Winter Haven, FL (August 5, 2011) – In true tribute to the generation that adored Cypress Gardens, LEGOLAND® Florida has announced an annual pass for any guests 60 years of age and older. The Senior Garden Pass allows our mature guests access to all of LEGOLAND Florida for less than the cost of a single-day admission ticket. When LEGOLAND Florida opens on October 15, the interactive family theme park will be 150-acres of more than 50 rides shows and attractions geared towards families with children ages 2-12 – and grandparents too!

For just $60 plus tax, seniors can enjoy the beauty of the botanical gardens at LEGOLAND Florida year-round. This weekday annual pass includes parking and access to the park Monday-Friday for an entire year.

“We are thrilled to offer our distinguished guests an annual pass tailored just for them,” said Kim Isemann, Director of Sales & Marketing. “At LEGOLAND Florida, we are incredibly proud of our heritage and especially the beautiful gardens. This specialty pass was designed to allow seniors the experience they’ve told us they wanted – access to the botanical gardens.”

The Senior Garden Pass is now available online at www.LEGOLAND.com. When the park opens on October 15, guests will also be able to purchase at the park’s front gate.

LEGOLAND Florida has taken great care to preserve the soul of the park – the historic gardens established on the grounds of its Cypress Gardens predecessor more than 75 years ago. The setting has been restored to its pristine condition, and the collection of native plants, including azaleas and camellias, have been reclaimed and combined with a range of exotic species to create a horticultural masterpiece. And still standing sentinel in the garden is the vast Banyan tree that was planted as a seedling in 1939.

EMMETT'S COMMENTARY: With the park likely being perceived as a kids-only destination, LEGOLAND Florida is making a smart move by offering such a great value to seniors. Consider the large senior population of Florida and the many children who travel to Florida to visit their grandparents as well as go to Walt Disney World, and you can see that LEGOLAND has a pretty good deal going.
